In the first lecture, we briefly review the basic aspects of kinetic equations arising in the kinetic theory of gases and discuss the Cauchy problem for the Boltzmann-BGK model near a global Maxwellian.
Second lecture is devoted to the kinetic descriptions of the synchronization phenom- ena. We first derive the mean field model of the particle Kuramoto model with finite ine- rtia and study the well-posedness and synchronization phenomena in the framework of measure-valued solutions.
