A crystal base is an important tool for studying the representations of a quantized enveloping algebra, often called quantum group, associated with a symmetrizable Kac-Moody algebra. In this talk, we will briefly review the notion of crystal base. Then I will introduce the unipotent quantum coordinate ring, which is a certain subalgebra of the quantum group, and explain its crystal structure for types ADE.
