In this talk, we are going to discuss the relationship between finite difference operators and mean oscillation operators.
To obtain fractional differentiability results for elliptic partial differential equations, one essentially has to obtain uniform estimates of the finite difference of the solution to the equation.
However, the classical approach to obtaining such estimates will give uniform estimates of the energy level at most.
To overcome such difficulties, mean oscillation operators can be used, which we will discuss.
