Metastability is a phenomenon that occurs in various physical models. One of the viewpoints of describing metastability is to estimate the exit time of metastable state which is called the Eyring-Kramers formula.
One of the most important models where metastability occurs is overdamped Langevin dynamics. In this talk, we introduce overdamped Langevin dynamics and compare the Eyring-Kramers formulas for reversible and nonreversible dynamics.
