In this talk, the speaker introduces the L^p boundedness problem for Fourier multiplier operators in linear theory and its multilinear analogue. For p ≤ 1, the boundedness in terms of Hardy spaces H^p is considered. For multilinear theory, some recent results associated with the Hormander multiplier theorem are also presented. At the end, a motivation of studying multilinear operators will be given.
