Title: Chapman-Enskog expansion, Boltzmann equation, Navier-Stokes equations, and Euler equations.

Abstract: We will briefly review the two versions of the Chapman-Enskog expansion used to derive the Navier-Stokes equations in gas dynamics from the Boltzmann equation in kinetic theory. The expansion's accuracy is assessed in both the time-asymptotic and the zero mean free path limits. This is illustrated by specific examples.
