In this talk, we review some foundational aspects of complex symmetric operators (CSOs) and explore a variant defined via anticonjugation. We begin by recalling standard definitions and structural results for classical CSOs on Hilbert spaces. Then, we introduce the modified class arising from anticonjugation, looking at its basic properties and how it relates to the conventional theory. We will discuss some recent developments in this direction. We will present several recent results concerning the spectral behavior and basic properties of these operators.
