In this talk I present results from generalized Orlicz spaces (a.k.a. Musielak-Orliczspaces) from an upcomming book with Petteri Harjulehto. The results cover fundamentals of harmonic analysis and include as special cases previous results in variable exponent and double phase cases. Particular emphasis will be laid on explaining the philosophy behind the approach adoted in the defintions proofs.
