In non commutative analysis, the formulation of the Khintchine inequalities differs for p > 2 and p < 1. We will explain how to use a very basic functional analysis approach to unify these formulations in an algebraic way. As an illustration, we get estimates for sums of free variables in various symmetric spaces knowning that on L∞. The technique can be used to get a variety of Khintchine type inequalties.
