In this first lecture, we will provide an overview of spin glass theory, focusing on its historical development and explaining why it is significant. We will introduce the basic concepts of spin glass theory, such as the Gibbs measure, the Parisi formula, Replica Symmetry Breaking (RSB), overlap distribution, free energy, partition function, and the fundamental models used in spin glass theory.
