In this talk, we will study an exceptional set of the linear type generalization of Goldbach`s conjecture, and give two applications to the theory of elliptic curves. One is the classical diophantine problem about integers which are sum of two rational cubes, and another is a construction of a family of elliptic curves whose rank is exactly two under the parity conjecture.
